The comments are gone…

Yes, I’ve switched the default comment system to Disqus. It all looks good except that all the existing comments are gone. The new version does allow importing them but unfortunately it requires the /tmp to be writeable. I guess I need further assistance from my hosting provider.

I’m spending the rest of this week to “restructure” my online presense. It seems the social web is moving fast and I need to catch up with what’s going on around here.

Friendfeed looks pretty. But I definitely need something like Twhirl, which enables Twitter & FriendFeed to operate side by side. Anyway, getting Adobe Air on Slackware is possible but requires typing command. Great, that’s the Slackware spirit, isn’t it? Adobe knows that lolz.

Anyway, when all the online profiles are up, let’s get connected.

I was going to ask you the same question. I installed Disqus for my Tumblr once and it worked well.

Disqus on WP is a plugin, so basically it overwrites the old comment system. Thanks god the new versions allows importing old comments to DisQus, as you can see :P

If you login to your WP-admin, click comments, and click advanced options. There you will see an import comments function. Depending on how many comments you have it make take awhile.

Feel free to ping me if you have any other questions,

Thanks. It was due to permission issues as my hosting service is on Linux.
